At last the Summer is finally here and hopefully the sun will find out soon enough and begin to shine!  Here at Lizzielane we’ve spent the last few weeks putting together what we think is our best ever Summer Collection with some simply excellent pieces from the likes of Hultquist, Danon, Pilgrim, Tutti & Co, Claudia Bradby and Hot Tomato.

Because we want you jewellery to stay beautiful we’ve put together some tips that we hope you  will find super useful help you look after your jewellery throughout the Summer months no matter whether you are holidaying here in the UK or heading further a field.

In the Sun Jewellery Care Top Tips

1. Fashion Jewellery and water are not a marriage made in heaven, so avoid wearing your jewellery near or in the swimming pool or sea.
2. Use the soft cloth or organza pouches provided free of charge with your jewellery to keep it individually wrapped when travelling to and from your sunny destinations.  This will protect it from getting damaged or scratched and also avoid tangles which can harm your jewellery.
3. Avoid letting your jewellery come into contact with sun-creams, after-sun moisturisers, soap, and face creams. If they do carefully rinse clean and pat dry. Make sure they’re fully dry before putting them away.
4. We all like to wear perfume in the evenings on holiday, and you still can by applying your perfume and hairspray and then add your jewellery as the final finishing touch.  This will avoid spraying directly on to it, which over time may cause harm.
5. The sun can affect some components used in costume and fashion jewellery so best to keep them out of the hot sun for prolonged periods.

Christmas and New Year Opening Hours

You will be able to place orders via our website all through the Christmas and New Year period, but our office will close at 5pm on Friday 21st December and reopen at 10am Thursday 27th December.  All orders placed after midday Friday 21st Dec will be shipped on Thursday 27th.

Our offices will again be closed from midday Monday 31st Dec and will reopen at 9am Wednesday Jan 2nd.  Any orders placed after midday 31st Dec will be shipped on Wednesday 2nd Jan.

Most of us, when we bring to mind hoop earrings, think immediately of a single smooth round loop, but there are numerous other equally appealing hoop earring styles that are challenging what most people think of as the standard circular silver earring.

So you may be thinking “What are these recent and intriguing offshoots of the traditional circular hoop earrings?”

Traditional Sterling Silver Hoop Earrings

These earrings (sometimes called sleepers) might be chunky, slim, large, extra large, huge, medium, small, or just teeny, but all of them are created from one circular piece of silver. Silver hoop earrings made with a base of nickel free metals have an attractive, jaunty and youthful vibe. They typically draw the awareness of the eye towards the wearer and the larger the loop, the more adventurous the wearer appears to be. Hoops can pretty much be worn with just about anything within your wardrobe – jeans, tee-shirts, dresses, skirts, etc, but seem to go particularly well with more relaxed casual attire such as jeans and plain or patterned tops.

Square Hoop Silver Earrings

Square hoop earrings are probably my favourite. They are hoops, but they are also square – How good is that? They offer more variety to the world of earrings than you thought was possible. When you think you’ve seen it all, along come square hoop earrings! As well as being made from many different materials, they might be wide or thicker square hoops or oblong shaped (should that be rectangular?) and thin, or any one of a million other designs dreamed up within the brains of modern designers.  Sometimes they can be smooth, hammered or silver.  Some earrings feature circular strands of silver that can be combined with other forms of metal or crystal as well as semi-precious stones or gems.

Dangly Silver Hoop Earrings

This type of hoop earrings are usually made by attaching the hoop to a short chain or another hoop. Dangling hoops can be made using traditional designs, but more often than not are designed to be as trendy as possible and can feature hearts or even heart shaped loops, a French hook type of loop, as well as other styles and designs for example daisies.

Double And Triple Silver Hoop Earrings

These are possibly the most original and different style of hoop earrings you will encounter, in fact one might say they are anything but ordinary! They will be manufactured from every size and form of hoop and are usually constructed from 2-3 different sizes of hoop gradually changing the diameter to ensure that one hoop fits within the other.  They could have a variety of finishes including polished, satin, hammered, or vintage.  As well as having different finishes they are available with many different textures to match your tastes and personality.
